Delete your account

• In the app: open More → Settings → Delete account, type your email (and your password) to confirm, and tap Delete permanently.
• On the web: sign in and go to Settings → Account (app.bellajournal.com/settings/account), then use Delete account at the bottom of the page.
• By email: if you can’t sign in, email [email protected] from your account email with the subject “Delete my account”, and we’ll delete it for you.

Want a copy first? Export your entries as CSV or JSON from the web app before you delete the account.

• Your account: email, password, sign-ins and the app’s login token, public nickname and settings.
• Every journal entry — including entries made from Apple Health or Health Connect data — with its photos, videos and the fields extracted from it.
• Your brews and their share pages, beans, recipes, insights, summaries, goals, experiments and custom activities, plus the likes and saves you made on other people’s brews while signed in.
• Any subscription bought on the web is cancelled.

Health access itself is managed by your phone: revoke it in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, or in Android’s Health Connect settings.

• Payment records. If you ever paid, our payment processor (Stripe) keeps its records of those payments, as the law requires.
• Server logs and backups. Our logs (which record an account id, not your email) and backups are not edited one by one; they are overwritten on a rolling basis.
• Cached share previews. A shared brew’s page and cover image may stay in browser and network caches for up to 5 minutes after deletion. Link previews that chat apps have already fetched can’t be recalled.
• Other people’s copies. A recipe someone else saved from one of your shared brews is their copy and stays in their account.
